The latest NASA spacesuit unveiled at the International Astronautical Congress represents a major advancement, costing $228 million, and set to be used for Artemis III missions.
Russell Ralston, Axiom's Executive Vice President, highlighted the importance of partnerships, stating, 'We are pioneering a new era in space exploration where partnerships are imperative to the commercialization of space.'
The new suit's complexity and cost reflect the ambitious goals of the Artemis III mission at the moon's south pole, the first lunar exploration since 1972.
Unlike the ceremonial launch of early spacesuits in the 1960s, the recent unveiling lacked high-profile attendees but marked significant technological progress with the Axiom-Prada collaboration.
