In measuring the brain anatomy of over 500 newborns, researchers found that female brains had more grey matter, enhancing functions like memory and emotion, while male brains had more white matter, improving communication between brain cells.
Lead author Yumnah Khan states, 'Several of the sex differences we found at birth do, indeed, appear to extend into adulthood,' highlighting the importance of exploring these differences from infancy.
