Ireland to reach 24C this week but Met Eireann dampens hopes of return to summery weather
Briefly

Despite a wet start today, sunshine is expected towards the evening, especially in the east and south of the country, providing a contrast to the earlier rain.
Friday will be warm and humid with spells of sunshine in many areas, as temperatures soar to as high as 24 degrees, though southern coastal areas may experience cloud and drizzle.
While much of the country will be dry, there is the potential for a few heavy downpours in south Leinster and south Munster, indicating a mix of weather conditions throughout the week.
Current indications suggest it will be rather cloudy on Sunday, with the chance of a few showers, and highs of 16 to 20 degrees according to Met Éireann.
