How I stoked my passion for oceanography in Chile's waters
Briefly

The Pacific Ocean hosts the largest oxygen minimum zone, where understanding microbial life is crucial as these zones may expand with climate change. Studying them is complicated due to contamination risks during sampling; innovative technologies are necessary for accurate insights.
Joining the research vessel Falkor (Too) was transformative for me. I learned to operate the CTD device, gaining direct experience in oceanic properties, while the collaboration among international scientists revealed a harmonious way to engage with science.
