The Kubuqi Desert, historically known as a "sea of death," is being transformed into a "sea of photovoltaic possibility" by solar panel installations aiming for 100 gigawatts.
As of now, 5.4 gigawatts have been installed, and this ambitious Solar Great Wall project could significantly contribute to Beijing's energy needs and combat desertification.
