Jesper Fast, a forward for the Carolina Hurricanes, has announced his retirement due to a serious neck injury sustained in April 2024. The 33-year-old expressed gratitude for his experiences in the NHL, acknowledging teammates, coaches, and fans from both the Rangers and Hurricanes. Fast underwent neck surgery last August and did not participate in the 2024-25 season. Initially drafted in 2010 by the Rangers, he enjoyed a successful career, making contributions on and off the ice throughout his eleven seasons in the league.
I never took for granted the privilege of playing in the best league in the world. I am grateful for all of the teammates, coaches, staff and fans...
