Fatal N.J. crash: Staten Island man allegedly hit 112 mph in drag race
"Although his driver's license was suspended, Alvi Limani, 20, of Prince's Bay, allegedly was behind the wheel of a gray BMW X3 occupied by three other people when the horrific crash occurred on the evening of June 29, according to the criminal complaint. Albion Hysenaj, 19, of Great Kills, died and Joseph Donzella, 21, of Bay Terrace, was seriously injured after they were ejected from the backseat of Limani's BMW."
"The criminal complaint alleges that Limani was racing with Jeter Ogando, 23, of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, who was driving a white BMW M5. Footage from a dash camera appeared to capture Limani and Ogando "operating recklessly prior to the crash," according to the criminal complaint. The criminal complaint alleges that Limani was weaving through traffic, hitting a top speed of 112 mph in a 55 mph zone on the southbound parkway through Woodbridge Township while racing with Ogando."
A driver allegedly accelerated past 100 mph while drag racing on the Garden State Parkway, then collided with another vehicle and a Ford Explorer, causing a fatal crash. The driver, Alvi Limani, 20, reportedly drove a gray BMW X3 with three passengers while his license was suspended. Two backseat occupants were ejected; one died and another was seriously injured. A front passenger suffered unspecified injuries. Surveillance and event data recorder evidence allegedly show speeds over 110 mph and reckless driving. Limani and a passenger allegedly fled the scene on foot instead of seeking help.
