Investigators in Markham are searching for a suspect after a woman was shot outside her home in what is believed to be a targeted attack. The 41-year-old woman was approached by a man disguised as a construction worker, who ambushed her after an interaction. The shooting, which occurred in daylight, left her injured but she has since been released from the hospital. Police have released videos from the incident and are urging witnesses to come forward, expressing concern over the nature of the incident.
"It's quite a concerning incident, particularly when this is in a residential intersection at 5:30 in the evening," said Const. James Dickson.
"The suspect did not attempt to enter the home or demand money, indicating it was not meant to be a home invasion," Const. Dickson stated.
