A Toronto police officer who was shot during a robbery investigation is recovering at home after being released from the hospital, with attempts to arrest suspects leading to the incident.
The 21-year-old suspect, Tibor Orgona, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, alongside two others facing multiple charges related to the robbery.
The shooting occurred during an operation where police were monitoring a suspected robbery vehicle and ultimately led to an exchange of gunfire that injured the officer.
The Special Investigations Unit is investigating the incident, confirming that while an officer discharged their weapon, no one was hit by the police gunfire.
