'Thirty years is a terribly long time to carry pain' - family of missing Imelda Keenan who they believe was murdered

"We are hopeful that the case will be upgraded to a murder investigation," Ms Keenan's niece, Gina Kerry said. After three decades of not knowing what happened to her, the Keenan family are hopeful of a positive development in the case.

"Every meeting with gardaí is like a parole meeting. We are hopeful that gardaí will have significant news in relation to the investigation. We did a lot of campaigning and appeals, and a lot of people have come forward with information, so I think this year has been more intense but more positive and given us more hope that we might get answers."
