A speeding driver, Rashid Ali, caused death by dangerous driving after hitting jogger Jack Patrick Ryan twice the speed limit on Battersea Bridge, London, leading to his death at the scene.
Ali was found guilty despite his absence from the trial, having failed to attend after being given additional time to return from Pakistan, where he expressed stress and vowed to face the consequences.
