In January, the York Children's Aid Society contacted York Regional Police regarding an infant who was taken to a Toronto hospital with significant injuries unexplainable by the parents.
Police indicated that the seven-week-old infant had severe injuries which led to the arrest of Hei Yip, the father, on charges of second-degree murder.
Following the death of the weeks-old child, police clarified that they have not disclosed the specific cause of death as the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities are appealing to the public for information, urging anyone who may know something about the case to reach out through confidential communication channels.
