The Queens Borough Board has approved the creation of the largest electric vehicle charging station in the city, located in Springfield Gardens. This approval involves the sale of a 2.5-acre site near JFK Airport to Wildflower JFK North LLC for approximately $8.6 million. The charging station will host a minimum of 65 EV charging stations, including 12 fast chargers, with potential expansion in the future. The site will be publicly accessible 24/7 and is expected to complete construction within 15 months. A goal of 25% participation from Minority and/or Women-owned Business Enterprises has also been set.
