Pensioner accused of murdering 81-year-old wife
Briefly

Brian James, 81, has been charged with the murder of his wife, Carol James, 81, following allegations that he struck her with a pan and strangled her at home.
Emergency services found the victim at their home in Bexleyheath, where she was pronounced dead at the scene, with the cause of death recorded as compression of the neck.
The defendant was subsequently treated for a head injury before being taken into custody by Lewisham Police, where he has now been charged with murder.
Due to concerns over his mental state, Judge Mark Dennis determined that Mr. James was not fit to attend a hearing, setting a plea hearing date for 10 March.
