Carol Flaz-Burgos, a 37-year-old mother, was found dead near Kenoza Lake in Haverhill days after being reported missing, leading to murder charges against Cristian Montero.
Cristian Montero, who lived in the same building as Flaz-Burgos, was arraigned for witness intimidation, but prosecutors later filed a murder charge based on autopsy results.
Prosecutors stated that video evidence showed Montero leaving their apartment complex with a cart filled with clothes at the same time Flaz-Burgos's phone was moving away.
Montero has been held without bail since his arrest, indicating serious concerns about public safety and the nature of the charges brought against him.
