Louis Ray Woods III claims he shot Brian Antonio Marquis Moore in self-defense, arguing he was reacting to perceived threats during a chaotic scene outside the bar.
Deputy District Attorney Edward McGarvey argued that Woods intentionally escalated the situation, acting out of anger and a desire to look tough in front of his father.
Woods’ attorney, Darryl Stallworth, contended that there was evidence Moore had a firearm, suggesting that Woods acted out of fear and not malice.
Jurors must decide between multiple charges based on the interpretations of events leading to Moore's death, including first degree murder or voluntary manslaughter.
