Exclusive | 'One man scourge' with lengthy rap sheet busted for 19 NYC burglaries - just months after prison release
Briefly

Tony Scott, a 38-year-old man recently released on parole, has been arrested for allegedly committing 19 burglaries across lower Manhattan within months of his release. Released in September 2023 after serving six years for prior burglary charges, Scott reportedly resumed his criminal activities right after, stealing electronics and other goods from various businesses. Despite a warrant issued for his arrest for absconding from community supervision, he continued his spree until caught by police. Authorities labeled him a "one man scourge" due to his wide-reaching impacts on multiple neighborhoods.
He was a one man scourge - he was hitting every neighborhood in lower Manhattan - the Village, Financial District, Chinatown, Gramercy Park, Midtown.
Scott was granted parole and released on Sept. 30 from state prison, where he had been held since August of 2018 in connection to seven burglaries.
