Alhadji Fofana, a 56-year-old man, was fatally injured while crossing Westchester Avenue near East 163rd Street when he was struck by a stolen Ford van.
After hitting Fofana, the driver tried to set the stolen van on fire and fled on foot, leaving authorities with no immediate description of the suspect.
