Charges against five of the eight individuals involved in a Toronto shootout have been stayed at the prosecution's request, while police continue their investigation.
"This remains an active and complex investigation," said Stephanie Sayer, police spokesperson, emphasizing the need to link firearms to suspects after the incident.
Clayton Campbell of the Toronto Police Association remarked that police procedures are properly followed, stating arrests are made as information permits during dynamic situations.
No injuries were reported from the shootout, though several bullets hit an unmarked police cruiser, stressing the dangerous environment during the party-related incident.
