Marquise Byfield, a 16-year-old boy, was shot during a confrontation inside the Livonia Deli & Grocery in Brooklyn. Witnesses reported that he was involved in a fight with another teen when shots were fired. Marquise sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and groin and was transported to Brookdale University Hospital, where he later died. The shooter, believed to be between 15 and 16 years old, fled the scene. The incident occurred shortly after the arrest of another suspect in a separate shooting case.
