Four people were killed and nine were injured after a minivan crashed into a nail salon on Long Island. One injured person was in serious condition and was transported by helicopter to a hospital.
The Suffolk County Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash. Nine agencies responded, including 150 firefighters and emergency medical responders.
Grand Boulevard was closed for several blocks around the salon, with about two dozen police officers at the scene. Hannah Hardt reported seeing 10 ambulances and two helicopters nearby.
Mark Stone, the public information officer for the Deer Park Fire Department, mentioned the significant injuries sustained by the victims and the response efforts of multiple fire departments and agencies.
