Patriots' 33-year streak of not naming a general manager expected to continue
Briefly

The New England Patriots have started the process of looking for an executive vice president of player personnel to oversee their football operations, taking over the responsibilities traditionally held by the general manager role.
The new EVP will have full roster control, oversee scouting, personnel departments, salary cap, and analytics team, reporting directly to the team's ownership, separating the head coaching and football operations position for the first time in 25 years.
Director of scouting, Eliot Wolf is a frontrunner for the new role, while external executives like Brandon Hunt from the Eagles and Samir Suleiman from the Panthers have also been interviewed.
