Christian Gonzalez ready to return to winning ways next to 'superstar' Drake Maye
Briefly

New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez rebounded from a rookie season cut short by injury to earn second-team All-Pro honors in his sophomore year. Despite his personal success, the team faced challenges, finishing with only four wins in two consecutive seasons. Gonzalez expressed that while winning is key, he enjoyed playing and was optimistic given their narrow losses in many games. He emphasized the importance of turnovers in defensive play and highlighted confidence in fellow star player Drake Maye. With a new head coach Mike Vrabel, Gonzalez remains hopeful about the team's future prospects.
It was tough, but honestly I was looking more of it as just going out there and having fun. I got hurt my rookie year so just being out there, playing the whole year was great for me and having fun. Obviously, you want to win. That's the main goal. But we were in a lot of close games.
Being able, as a defense, to get more turnovers - to get back to the Patriot defense everybody knows, just getting the ball back. If we do that and get the ball back to Drake a lot more times, I feel like we could have won a lot more of those games.
