Calvin Jones, a celebrated Nebraska football player and Super Bowl champion with the Green Bay Packers, passed away at the age of 54. His body was discovered in the basement of a house in north Omaha, and while police await autopsy results, a friend suggested that carbon monoxide poisoning may have contributed to his untimely death, due to issues with the home's furnace. Jones was known for his impressive college statistics, rushing over 3,000 yards, and forming a notable tandem known as the 'We-Backs' during his college career.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Husker legend and Super Bowl Champion, Calvin Jones. Our hearts go out to the Jones family and he will be greatly missed.
Jones rushed for 3,166 yards and 40 touchdowns and was an All-Big Eight pick in 1992-93, known for his contributions as part of the We-Backs duo.
