"It kind of shows a little bit of everything," McBride told ESPN. "I wasn't planning on hurdling. It just kind of happened. Ran, jumped as high as I could and it worked out. I wish I wouldn't have actually ran into the guy on the way out. I wish I wouldn't have hit him. I probably would've scored. But, yeah, I think it shows that I can do a lot of things in the pass game, run game and just trying to make plays for this team."
McBride's performance in the game included nine catches for 124 yards. This marked his first 100-yard game of the season, further solidifying his position as a complete and elite tight end in the NFL.
His play on National Tight Ends Day epitomized what distinguishes him: a blend of route running, receiving ability, and the agility to make plays after the catch, setting a standard for tight ends across the league.
