Silly Nice, a Black and veteran-owned cannabis brand based in Harlem, is innovating production and packaging methods in response to rising tariffs on imported materials. Partnering with Sana Packaging, the company has pivoted towards sustainable packaging solutions, utilizing ocean-bound plastic and renewable materials to enhance environmental responsibility and transparency. Since its founding in March 2024, Silly Nice has sold over 40,000 units, illustrating its alignment with community-driven growth and improved profitability despite challenges posed by tariffs. The brand aims to lead the cannabis industry in redefining packaging standards.
"Sustainability isn't just a buzzword - it's a responsibility," said co-founder of Silly Nice LeVar Thomas. "We knew we had to find a solution that didn't just respond to the tariffs but moved us forward in a better direction. Ron [founder of Sana Packaging] and the Sana team have been instrumental in making that possible."
