'Fat Cat Killers', an off-Broadway comedy opening this month, follows two former employees who kidnap their CEO to incite a workplace uprising. Producer and star Christopher Lee was inspired to stage the play after the real-life murder of a healthcare CEO prompted reflection on workplace injustices. Although the play does not reference the actual shooting, it explores similar emotional themes about desperation faced by employees. Lee emphasizes that the play critiques the mentality behind violent actions without glorifying them.
"I had CNN on in the background, and it's almost like the news feed was part of the play," Lee said. "I was like, this play has to be done right now. There's never gonna be a better time for an audience to sit down and follow this story."
