Rival Foods, a Dutch food-tech company, has raised €10M in a Series B funding round led by new investors APG, Pymwymic, and ROM Utrecht Region, with existing investor PeakBridge participating. The funding will allow Rival Foods to double its production capacity and refine its manufacturing technology for plant-based meats that mimic the taste and texture of real meat. This development aims to boost the limited current market of plant-based meat, which constitutes only 5% of meat consumption in Europe, by addressing issues of price, texture, and ingredient quality.
Rival Foods has cracked the code on clean-label, plant-based proteins that truly deliver the taste and texture of meat. With products already matching animal protein on cost, they're set to accelerate the shift toward a more sustainable, plant-powered future.
This investment marks a major milestone in our mission to make high-quality plant-based meat mainstream, without compromising on taste, texture, or nutrition.
