Yama-Tani Housing / Kengo Kuma & Associates
Briefly

Yama Tani, a small wooden housing project in the northeast of Paris, aims to recreate a human scale akin to a village while incorporating nature into its design.
The stepped composition of the building opens up to the southeast corner, maximizing sunlight intake while ensuring that most apartments have direct access to outdoor spaces like balconies and terraces.
Using wood as the primary material provides a unique softness and warmth to the building, promoting well-being with its properties while reflecting seasonal changes in an engaging manner.
The façade design mimics the relief of mountains, allowing each section to catch sunlight differently, thus creating a dynamic visual effect that enhances the overall living experience.
