MTA begins issuing fines for bus lane violations
Briefly

The MTA's ACE program aims to significantly reduce illegal parking and double-parking violations along key bus routes across the city, thereby enhancing bus service efficiency.
New York City Transit Senior Vice President of Buses, Frank Annicaro, stated: 'Time is up for folks who are inconveniencing bus passengers by blocking buses and bus stops.'
According to MTA data, the introduction of enforcement cameras has resulted in a 5% increase in bus lane speeds and a 20% reduction in collisions.
MTA reveals that just 9% of drivers go on to commit another bus lane violation after receiving fines, indicating a positive deterrent effect from the enforcement.
