Queens Borough President Donovan Richards stated, 'Thankfully, no one died in those crashes. But we're not waiting until someone loses their life to take action'.

Proposed upgrades include larger pedestrian islands, raised crosswalks, and a dead-end at Beach 35th Street, enhancing safety significantly and reducing complexity.
