Comptroller Lander: Judge's ruling 'rightly denied' motion to dismiss lawsuits challenging toll pricing pause
Briefly

This is a victory for our broad coalition of transit riders, environmental advocates, and disability justice organizations. Judge [Arthur F.] Engoron rightfully denied Gov. Hochul's motion to dismiss two critical lawsuits to restore congestion pricing.
This development is a blow to the governor's misguided belief that she has the ultimate authority to override an established law and remake it to fit her whims.
The City Club and two transit and environment advocacy groups were litigating to remove Gov. Hochul's pause of the plan so that it could begin.
Congestion pricing was signed into law by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2019, after both houses of the state legislature adopted it and received federal approval.
