A new social media trend, the Kool-Aid Man challenge, is inspiring adolescents to vandalize property. In a recent incident on Staten Island, a group of teenagers destroyed a fence at a couple's home. Surveillance footage captured the teens careening through the fence, leaving the homeowners, Vera and Peter Naccarato, feeling violated and disappointed. This trend, reminiscent of 1970s and 80s Kool-Aid commercials featuring the mascot crashing through walls, has sparked concern over property damage and adolescent behavior in neighborhoods.
The couple was shocked to find a group of teenagers careening through their fence at around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night, causing significant damage.
Vera Naccarato expressed anger and disappointment, stating: "I felt violated because it's our home and someone was in a part of our home and destroyed our property."
