Dunnes Stores has recalled 1,564 packs of baby socks after a safety alert from a concerned parent whose child suffered an injury due to a loose thread wrapping around their toe. This incident led to a hospital visit for surgical removal. The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) expressed gratitude to the parent for reporting the potential danger, emphasizing consumer safety. The CCPC has encouraged consumers to return the socks for a refund or dispose of them, and provided contact details for further safety concerns.
