Summerfest, now celebrating its 60th year, offers free live music performances in Harlem at Grant's Tomb and Marcus Garvey Park. The lineup includes renowned jazz artists and emerging talents, covering genres from Latin to swing. Highlights feature the Great Jazz on the Great Hill in Central Park, scheduled for Aug. 9, and performances by the George Gee Swing Orchestra. Other concerts include Terri Lyne Carrington's show and the Charlie Parker Festival opening night. Concerts are free, weather permitting, supported by various donors like the Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation and NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.
Now in its 60th year, Summerfest brings an outstanding roster of jazz stars and emerging talents to Harlem's Grant's Tomb and Marcus Garvey Park for free musical performances.
A highlight from Summerfest this year is the annual Great Jazz on the Great Hill in Central Park, featuring Lezlie Harrison as host and trumpeters Josh Evans and Wallace Roney, Jr.
Other highlights from this season include the show featuring Terri Lyne Carrington We Insist 2025' with Christie Dashiel and the opening night of the Charlie Parker Festival.
All Summerfest concerts are free to the public, weather permitting and subject to change, thanks to donations from various foundations and organizations.
