The 2025 Tribeca Festival will open with the world premiere of "Billy Joel: And So It Goes," a two-part HBO documentary featuring rare performances and personal insights into Joel's life. Scheduled for June 4, 2025, at the Beacon Theatre, the documentary aims to provide an in-depth exploration of the singer-songwriter's artistic journey, highlighting themes of love and personal struggles. Festival co-founder Jane Rosenthal praised Joel's embodiment of New York spirit, while director Susan Lacy expressed gratitude for the opportunity to present this intimate portrayal of a legendary talent.
