Two New Manhattan Rooftop Spots Will Debut in April
Briefly

In April, two rooftop venues will debut: Akoya, a sushi and temaki bar at the Knickerbocker Hotel, and Leonessa, an Italian aperitivo bar at the Conrad New York Downtown. Akoya will focus on a relaxed dining experience with notable sushi chef Taishi Yamaguchi leading the culinary team, offering hand rolls and an omakase option. Leonessa, helmed by restaurateur Ariel Arce, will replace the Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar and emphasize Italian drinking culture with a stylish cocktail menu that aligns with Arce’s dedication to bar-focused dining.
"I want it to be a relaxed spot where people can have a cocktail and order what they want." Palmer outlines the vision for Akoya, emphasizing comfort and simplicity.
Palmer hired chef Taishi Yamaguchi, formerly of Katsuya, Aman, and En Brasserie, to run Akoya, ensuring a high level of culinary quality at this new venue.
Arce's Leonessa, located on the 16th floor of the Conrad Downtown, is set to transform the rooftop experience into a celebration of Italian aperitivo culture.
