The NYPD has arrested Melani Uquillas, 21, and a 17-year-old girl, connecting them to a grand larceny at Staten Island Mall, specifically Sephora.
Police reported that Uquillas and two accomplices allegedly stole approximately $5,431 worth of makeup from the retailer before fleeing the scene.
The incident took place on August 8 at around 4:07 p.m., highlighting ongoing concerns about retail theft in urban areas.
Uquillas is set to appear in court for her arraignment on September 5, marking a swift response from law enforcement.
