"It's a life-or-death scenario every time she eats sesame," explained Greg Nemeth, highlighting the urgency of Melissa's severe allergy and the precautions the family takes.
"Fortunately she had her EpiPen with her and was able to somehow get her way home," said Melissa's lawyer, underlining the critical importance of carrying emergency medication for severe allergies.
After her allergic reaction, Greg shared how serious their situation is, stating, "You wouldn’t think necessarily that a chocolate chip cookie would have sesame seeds, but we always ask because you never know."
In her lawsuit, Melissa reflects on the mishap, noting that she had informed the barista of her allergy, only to be assured incorrectly about the cookie's safety.
