Every great theme park needs mediocre attractions. They allow guests to take a break from high-demand rides and manage crowd flow during peak times.
Tom Sawyer Island was my first attraction at Walt Disney World, a personal place filled with nostalgic memories, even if it had mediocre attendance compared to others.
The closure of Tom Sawyer Island for new Cars-themed attractions feels like a gut punch because the island once sparked my imagination and creativity as a child.
