"Naomi would have wanted us to press on to open the restaurant, and we want to follow through on the vision she was so instrumental in creating," Dirks said.
"The consensus was we felt like we needed to do something. We didn't feel like Naomi would want us just to throw in the towel and move on," Dirks told Eater.
"It was really important to us to know that they not only were on board but were enthusiastic about us doing something, because the last thing we would have wanted to do is like, you know, step afoul of the family," Dirks said.
