You'll smell garlic as soon as you step foot in this Bernal Heights Peruvian restaurant. That's because most tables have pieces of fried chicken gasping for air under piles of minced garlic, waiting for a ladle of vinegary peppery sauce.
The chicharron al ajo is a must-order, along with a big plate of soy sauce-heavy lomo saltado with tender chunks of beef, crispy fries, and a generous scoop of white rice.
Otherwise, expect generous portions of food that arrives almost immediately after you've ordered them. If you're anything like us, you'll devour everything just as fast.
But feel free to lounge around—service is friendly and unrushed, leaving plenty of time to admire the Peruvian knick-knacks and Machu Picchu pictures hanging on the walls.
