The highlight of the evening was the box crab cappelletti with its dainty-filled parcels, rich seafood sauce, and buttery hunks of crab meat. Dry-aged duck and stunning strawberry dessert followed.
Chiles en nogada at Maizano in Costa Mesa offers one of the best versions of the Puebla dish with fresh spices in the walnut cream, tart pomegranate seeds, and a colorful presentation.
