Why I love Mission Bay
Briefly

Mission Bay, often dismissed as a sterile area dominated by biotech structures and high-rise condos, is, in reality, a vibrant neighborhood hiding in plain sight. While it features contemporary architecture, the essence of the area shines through its eclectic food scene, casual gathering spots, and frequently visited venues like Chase Center. From places like Spark Social with its diverse food trucks to the allure of Michelin-starred dining, Mission Bay offers a refreshing mix of experiences that defy its modern reputation, reminding visitors of the city's lively spirit and community warmth.
Mission Bay isn't actually soulless - it's just playing hard to get. It's a space where culinary artistry meets casual dining, embodying the neighborhood's unique charm.
Not all San Francisco residents have been to Mission Bay, but all sports fans have. They know the pain of paying $40 for parking and the joy of sneaking in a burrito.
Spark Social is a rotating parade of food trucks, lawn games, and fire pits - then suddenly, I'm roped into a game of giant Jenga with people I just met.
Mission Rock is proof that if you build it, they will come - as long as 'it' includes expensive coffee and at least one Michelin-adjacent restaurant.
