Michael Mina Appears to Be Plotting a New Fine Dining Restaurant Where His Old One Used to Be In the Westin St. Francis
Briefly

Celebrity chef Michael Mina is expected to return to the Westin St. Francis after ongoing renovations conclude. Previously, his fine-dining restaurant held two Michelin stars and was a prominent destination in Union Square. Following the closure of the casual Bourbon Steak, job listings suggest a new project may open by mid-2025. Though current details are limited and unverified, the hotel has released renderings of a new bar leading into what was once Mina's first restaurant space, which may transform the former Clock Bar into a private dining area.
Both spaces have been closed to the public while the hotel has been undergoing a major renovation, but the SF Business Times suggests that those renovations may be nearing completion.
The main evidence is that MINA Group has posted a job listing for an unnamed 'New Project' in San Francisco, opening in 'mid 2025,' and experience in a 'hotel and union environment' is preferred.
The Westin did make public a rendering of a square or rectangular, central 'island' bar in the new lobby off Powell Street, with steps that would lead up into the former Michael Mina space.
It sounds from the plans like the former Clock Bar will become a private dining room and lounge space.
