A new 48-bed mental health inpatient facility has been approved in San Jose's Willow Glen neighborhood, aiming to treat individuals with various mental health conditions. While the Planning Commission endorsed the project, local residents voiced apprehensions about safety and security, citing potential risks due to the nature of the patients. Developer LGTC Group assured that strict security measures, including a shuttle service for patient transport and comprehensive monitoring systems, will be implemented to mitigate these concerns. The facility is designed to have a supportive impact on the community without disrupting the neighborhood's peace.
The developer stated this is for patients with mild pathologies, however, I've worked in health care for 20 years. Inpatient services are not for mild pathologies.
Patients will only be able to come and go through a shuttle service, and we have security systems in place to monitor the facility.
There’s plenty of parking and other amenities available for the employees of the organization, which we intend to have a one to three patient ratio.
These facilities are owned by our group, so there will be no disturbance or negative effect on the neighborhood.
