Of course, reaching the upper threshold on either of those metrics is highly dependent on the game you're playing and what you're willing to sacrifice. You can get a faster frame rate by switching to performance mode in many games or go for the most impressive visuals.
If you can't see yourself waiting that long or paying that much, one of the current PS5s is still a great buy. They'll continue supporting all the same games and accessories, so you shouldn't feel much apprehension picking one up this late in the game.
