"For several of us, this is a journey that has taken us five years and we recognize this milestone not as a goal, but rather as a checkpoint," said Siosiua Veikune, emphasizing that the ongoing advocacy for climate justice is continuous. This acknowledgment points not just to the significance of the upcoming advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice, but to the broader struggle for recognition and response to climate-induced challenges faced by Pacific Island nations.
