Ryan Wilcox, 32, from Worcester, has been charged with armed assault with intent to kill in connection with the death of Mitchell Burke, also 32.
According to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr., the police found Burke's body in the woods near Brigham Street.
The investigation into Mitchell Burke's death remains ongoing as authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Massachusetts State Police.
Wilcox is facing multiple charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, following the discovery of Burke's body.
