Wilam Ngarrang Residence / Kennedy Nolan Architects
Briefly

The project showcases how a minimal-intervention retrofit can significantly enhance a 1970s apartment's sustainability and comfort, making it a model for future replicable developments.
By focusing on thermal performance, lifespan extension, and tenant amenities, this retrofit not only reduces operating costs but also fosters a warm and welcoming living environment.
Collectively, these enhancements, including a 33kW solar system and community spaces, can lead to estimated utility bill reductions for tenants of 80% or more.
The communal aspects of the design, such as a shared vegetable plot and social laundry space, aim to nurture community relations and contribute positively to society.
